2. Put backup file on sd card (clockworkmod folder). 

3. Reboot then, do a full wipe

system folder only have 2.4mb free space, meaning it is not advisable to integrate some APPLICATION to this folder to make an app as a system file....but if you want,you can put it on this folder by using rootexplorer /custpack/app/withlib or withoutlib , 

same thing in replacing launcher...its better to put it to /custpack/app/withlib or withoutlib to save some system space then delete the default launcher in /system/app (make sure to set the permission properly [ rw-r-r ]


how to install?
1.rooted
2.custom recovery installed (CWM recovery)
3.place the zip file(ICS 2.3.6v4 final) to sd card
4.go to recovery mode by pressing volume up & power key (hold them until android logo indicate)
5.now select "wipe data/factory reset" this will delete all user "data" and "cache"(cache recognize as a cuspact files in Alcatel 918 2.3.6 version )
6.after step #5 select "install zip from sdcard" then select "chose zip from sdcard"
7.locate the ICS 2.3.6v4 final.zip then after selecting it press the power key.
8.wait until installing process done. it will indicates installation complete...select "++Go Back++"
9. now select "Backup and restore" then "advance restore"
10.you will see the custpackfile select it by pressing power key now select cache by pressing again the power key ,after restoring now your done reboot your phone and wait a few minutes to setup your phone.....

Guide to install:

1.place the zip file(CMW_recovery_by_mark.zip&ICS_v5_by_mark.zip) to sd card
2.go to recovery mode
3.select "install zip from sdcard" then select "chose zip from sdcard"
4.locate the CMW_recovery_by_mark.zip then after selecting it press the menu key.
5.wait until installing process done "!"
6.turn off your phone after flashing my CMW recovery.
7.Now boot up to recovery mode one's again
8.locate to ICS_v5_by_mark.zip and Repeat step 3-4 then reboot

Its simple just follow the simple steps.

1. Its important that your device should be charged more than 80%.

2. Download ther zip file and place it on your SD card.

3. Backup your data, contacts, messages and all your stuff. for back up i will recommend you Super Backup
app that you can download from Play Store.

4.Switch off your device.

5. Press the Home button, Power button and the Volume up button. You have to press all three of them together
until the phone is turned on.You will see that some windows has appeared . This  is called Recovery Mode.Touch screen wont work on this mode you have to use volume buttons, home button and the power buttons to 
operate the phone. Home button for selecting and Power key for going back to previous screen.  


6. Select the option 'Apply update from sd card'. 


7. Choose the file that you have downloaded and select yes.

8. It will take few seconds and when its done you have to select the option 'Reboot system now'. 
After selecting it your phone will Reboot.

9. Its done, check your Superuser app app in the menu, if its their it means you are rooted. 


10. Now open it and update the binaries.

11. If you want to install custom rom click hear.
