How to root Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Introduction:
Today, I will guide you on how you can root your Samsung Galaxy Note 2.These methods are the most easiest, safest and the fastest methods up to date. To start off, the first method became easy all because of the hard work of this man mskip, all credits go to him. The second method will take little more time but it’s more guaranteed to work on any Galaxy Note 2.

Disclaimer:
I’m not responsible if something went wrong on your phone(Usually nothing goes wrong), you’re doing this on your own responsibility.
Rooting will void your warranty so, don't root unless you know what you are doing.

Method1:Rooting via Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit:

Requirements:

1-Download the Toolkit from HERE
2-Make sure you enable USB Debugging
Go to Setting-> Developer options-> Tick “USB debugging”
3-Make sure to backup your EFS file before proceeding.

Let’s Start:

Step1: Install the toolkit on your computer.

Step2: After the toolkit start follow instructions:
Now in your phone go to Setting-> About phone then scroll down and check what is your build number, if you didn’t see your build number then just type 01 and hit enter to continue.

Now in this screen before we start rooting the Galaxy Note 2 we should first install the drivers so choose the option 1

Now in this screen after you installed the drivers you will get back to the main screen. Now choose 2 and continue.

Now in this screen we should choose the way you want to root your phone IF you selected your build number as in your phone in the main menu then choose option 2 to root and install Busybox only or choose option 3 to root ,install Busybox and install Custom Recovery. But IF you didn’t see your build number as in your phone and typed 01(as I told you to do so) then you have to type 5

If you have chosen option 2:
Now you will have to choose the superuser apptto use I recommend option "2" (SuperSu)Since it works better with icecream Sandwich and JellyBean. The toolkit will guide you now through the rest of the process.
If you have chosen option 3:
It will ask you which custom recovery do you want.IF you didn’t know which one to choose then type 2 and continue. Now you will have to choose the superuser app you want to use I recommend option "2" (SuperSu)Since it works better with icecream Sandwich and JellyBean. Now the toolkit will guide you now through the rest of the rooting process.

If you have chosen option 5:
This option will root your phone by installing a custom recovery then installing the root files from there. So, if you only wanted to root then make sure you flash(install) back the stock recovery.
Now it will ask you if you have a custom recovery which I don’t think you have if your Galaxy Note 2 is new. So, type “no” and continue. It will ask you which custom recovery do you want. IF you didn’t know which one to choose then type 2 continue. Now you will have to choose the superuser app you want to use I recommend option "2" (SuperSu) Since it works better with icecream Sandwich and JellyBean. Now the toolkit will guide you now through the rest of the rooting process.

To flash back the stock recovery:
Open the toolkit again. And follow the instructions above until you get till this screen.

After you have chosen option 6 it will ask you “Are you ready you to continue?”, after you enable USB debugging in Setting-> Developer options, type yes and hit enter to continue. Now the toolkit will guide you now through the rest of the flashing process which will include using odin.

Method2: Rooting using Odin: [Recommended]
This method is better since it works for almost all Galaxy Note 2s,and it will only root and install busybox.
All credits go for Chainfire for making the CF-autoroot make a look at the Original Thread

Requirements:

1-Download these files:
1-CF-Autoroot Depending on your model number which could be found in Setting-> About Phone:
A) For N7100 Model go HERE.

G) SGH-I317 Model go HERE
H) SGH-I317M Model go HERE

IF you didn't see your model number above don't try this method because it might brick your phone.
2-Odin 3.07 From HERE.
3-Samsung USB Drivers from HERE and then install them.
4-Make sure to backup your EFS file before proceeding.

Step1:Extract the CF-Autoroot until you got a file with .tar.md5

Step2: Extract odin307.zip then run Odin3 v3.07 as administrator.

Step3:Shutdown your Note 2 completely. Then, hold down the volume down button+ the home button then press the power button for 5 seconds, after you will see a warning screen just press volume up.

Step4: Now click on “PDA” and choose the .tar.md5 file we downloaded earlier. Then connect the USB cable to your computer then to your Galaxy Note 2. Now Click on “Start”.
